South Copeland Community Forums

About

The South Copeland GDF Community Partnership's Community Forums are an opportunity to help influence the work of the Community Partnership and to share your views, as well as your hopes, aspirations and concerns for the future of your area.

Attendees will be able to express their views by participating in round-table discussions with other members of the community.

These events will contribute towards one of the Community Partnerships key roles, which involves working directly with local people – to create a community vision. This means actively involving the community on how they would like their community to evolve and to consider the part that a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) may play in that vision becoming a reality.

For a community that is ultimately selected to host a GDF, the Government will provide Significant Additional Investment bringing community benefits, and a lasting legacy for that community.

To help support the development of this vision the Community Partnership is interested in understanding how people feel about this area, what they most value and what they might want to improve.
